Okay, so props in a photoshoot can take a dangerous step towards the cheese factor. On the other hand, what can be more fun than an oversize balloon! I believe props can work as long as they aren't the focus of the shoot and that they are only a supporting element in the creative collaboration. In some ways, the walls I choose, the sun I work with and the couple themselves are elements or props that we can work with. Introducing more to the mix can be really exciting and create a space that allows for images we wouldn't have conceived of otherwise. It's also really important to think of the shoot as a creative collaboration with my clients. I always want the ideas to flow back and forth so that we, as a collective, can build on the synergy.
